Hi-Desert Artists

Yucca Valley, CA

Implementation

Based in the Yucca Valley, California in the Mojave Desert, Hi-Desert Artists (HDA) is an artist-designed and operated non-profit corporation created for the benefit of its members and the greater High Desert community. HDA advocates accessibility to the exhibition and sales of artwork by established and emerging artists on a continuing basis and produces art exhibitions, workshops, performances, and classes. HDA seeks to guarantee that its values, policies and practices are inclusive of all people inclusive of race/ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, socioeconomic status, citizenship status, or religion.

Through a partnership with their fiscal partner AHA Projects, Hi-Desert Artists will use an Implementation Grant to support the design and installation of a comprehensive 27.3 kW, 65-panel rooftop solar generation system, including upgrades necessary for integration into the facility’s existing electrical systems. Ancillary investments supported by the project include the reroofing of the center’s two buildings, removal of roof-mounted gas heaters and evaporative coolers, and the installation of five HVAC mini-split units.
