The Akron Art Museum (AAM) has embraced its position as a community arts anchor for over 100 years, and proudly supports creative programming in Northeast Ohio. The museum showcases regional, national, and international artists, with a collection of over 7,000 objects. The Akron Art Museum invites all people to enrich their lives through modern and contemporary art.
AAM is dedicated to reducing energy consumption throughout its entire campus. A phased approach provides energy efficient support for the museum’s security and public safety measures while the museum renovates its original building. An FCI Catalyst Grant will contribute to the first phase of upgrades to existing lighting with a new, energy efficient LED system that will illuminate poorly lit areas of the main campus where exterior lights remain on for extended amounts of time, including building exteriors, gardens, parking lots, service, and community areas. Improvements will decrease energy use and increase cost savings.
