KANEKO

Omaha, NE

Catalyst

Established in 1998, KANEKO’s purpose is exploring the creative process—how a new idea is born into the arts, sciences, and philosophy. KANEKO believes that the transformative power of creativity is a crucial catalyst for the evolution of individual and civic life. Founded on the principle that space and freedom for the imagination are imperative, KANEKO provides opportunities to think differently. KANEKO frequently offers unconventional programming, exposing attendees to varied perspectives that deepen understanding of the creative process, inspire them to develop their abilities, and provide opportunities to explore and apply what they have learned. Activities include exhibits, performances, interactive installations, and a significant array of public programs, such as workshops, presentations, seminars, symposiums, round table discussions, and other participatory events.

The Catalyst Grant will go toward upgrading the KANEKO HVAC infrastructure by replacing two AC units and two furnace units with EnergyStar-certified equipment. Additionally, the installation of programmable Honeywell Thermostats and the cost of a crane rental for rooftop installation will be covered. These upgrades will not only improve energy efficiency but also reduce maintenance costs, contributing to KANEKO's commitment to sustainability while enhancing operational efficiency.
